I don't know you....but I know you
I had shoes like yours, I walked roads you've walked
I ran with crowds like yours, and I talked their talk
I didn't know I was walking in the dark

I don't know you...but I know you
I hid from my own pain, I buried my own shame
I couldn't let go of my sin, and I couldn't let Jesus in

I don't know you...but I know you
I blamed others for my weakness
I blamed my childhood for my choices
I couldn't look myself in the mirror
and i couldn't look God in the eye

I don't know you...but I know you
Once a walking empty soul,
now a living, breathing Christian made whole
By the blood that took all my shame away,
by the blood that healed my pierced heart
by the blood that gave my life back to me
by the blood that washed me clean

Because he said...He knows me
He was crucified for doing nothing wrong
He hung though his life was love

He walked with tattered shoes
and he walked with dirty souls
He came to be a friend
to those that were shamed by men

He healed the sick
and loved the lost
He loved them
and he paid the ultimate cost

To save their souls,
He hung with grace,
To feed his sheep,
His blood ran down his face

With crowns of hope
he taught us to cope,
Son of God, he came to save,
He knew me....before his grave
He saved me...with his life
He knew me....and he has never forsaken me...

but first he asked, do you know me?
Do you love me?
Will you walk with me?
Will you talk with me?
i will never leave you,
though at times you may leave me,
but never forget how near I am,
I am forever your friend
I can feel your pain, I can give you grace
I can give you hope, and I can give you peace
I can take your pain and lay it to rest
Get to know me....is all I ask
